In Regards to This Morning's Minor Outage
I take this very seriously. When I launched the site a year ago I made a “Tellgram is down” page just incase anything went wrong. I have never had to use it until today. The issue we had this morning has been identified as a problem with our hosting provider. I have begun monitoring the server more actively and I will do whatever it is I can to make sure our downtime is minimized in...

Android and webOS Support
Today Tellgram supports Android and webOS phones.
Interesting notes:
Android phones do not support some unicode characters.
webOS phones do not support common HTML5 audio and video elements.
If you have a Windows Phone 7 and would like support contact hello@tellgram.com and we will work something out.

Better: iPhone, Invite Codes, and Error Logging
When I started work on Tellgram, I designed the iPhone view first. Now the iPhone side of the website has got an update to make it easier on your fingers. The columns are now collapsable so that you are not overloaded with content.
We have also made one-click invite code links. So instead of having to type in a code, you can just click a link like: tellgr.am/i/code here
Also, now every...

Video, Invite Codes, and Admission
Today we are proud to announce that we have a solution for the video problem on Tellgram. We are using the Flowplayer for browsers that do not support HTML5. There may still be some bugs, but we are working them out.
When new users log in they do not have the ability to post. They can only star things and input an e-mail address. Now when they click on Settings they are presented with the...

The Goals of This Private Beta of Tellgram
Tellgram is an amazing project with ambitious goals. We want to be a gallery of your best work of most mediums. A community of people who do great things. We’re in a private beta now with 16 users who have full access. We want to open up to more people but we also want to solve some glaring issues.
This site is made to use HTML5 technologies such as audio and video embedding. The issue...

Tellgram within Twitter
When Twitter announced the new website last year the big new feature was the ability to preview pictures and videos within the timeline. It started out limited to a number of content providers. Thanks to the great people at Embedly, we have an extension for your web browser called Parrotfish. What Parrotfish does is allow Twitter to show you a preview of almost any link in a tweet. They have an...

Welcome to Tellgram!
Welcome to the Tellgram beta!
Tellgram is a community of creators who craft well designed content and want to share it with people. Tellgram is not for everything though. We are not Tumblr, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, or anything like that. We are for the best of what you make.
Creative Limitations
You are limited to sending five wires a week. (No, these are not like rollover minutes.) It...

Tellgram Launches This Monday! (3-21)
Jake Bilbrey:
Tellgram is the place for people who make cool stuff to show off.
I am very proud of this site that I made. I hope you like it, I know I do. I started making this last August. I would like to say a super-thank you to Matthew Price of Ember Code and my college teacher Jeremy Ey for their help and putting up with me.
Tellgram launches in a beta. The beta limits who can...

Promotional Consideration / Press Kit
Tellgram’s slogan is “Show off.” If we had to describe Tellgram in one sentence it would be: A community where creators come together to show off.
Tellgram launches in beta on 3-21.

At Work
We took a break from development for a while to work on our programming skills. Development of Tellgram has started and things are looking very positive. The front page of Tellgram.com now reflects our current ambitions.
Our site will be powered by Twitter for logging in. To reflect this we want to ask you for as little information as possible. We won’t be posting things to your account without...
